Industrial furnaces and ovens in the UAE are the heat treatment furnaces, melting furnaces, curing and drying ovens and kilns used by metal fabricators, foundries, aluminium extruders, powder coaters and oil and gas component makers. This page lists UAE suppliers and explains the main types, how Gulf heat affects cooling and combustion, the EN 746, ISO 13577, NFPA 86 and API standards buyers specify, and what drives price and delivery.

Industrial furnaces and ovens are heated enclosures that raise parts or material to a controlled temperature to change their properties, melt them, cure a coating or drive off moisture. In the UAE they are part of the manufacturing machinery sector, and they are bought by aluminium extruders and façade coaters, steel and forging shops, foundries, wellhead and valve makers, ceramic and building product plants and maintenance workshops. The split between the two is loose: ovens usually run at lower temperatures for curing and drying, furnaces at higher temperatures for heat treatment and melting.
| Type | Typical UAE use | Key specification points |
|---|---|---|
| Heat treatment furnaces for steel and alloys | Quench and temper, normalising and stress relieving of forgings, valve bodies, wellhead parts and fasteners | Working zone size and load, temperature range and uniformity, atmosphere, quench system, control and recording |
| Melting furnaces for metal and scrap | Aluminium remelting, copper and brass castings, steel scrap melting in foundries | Melt capacity per hour and per batch, induction or fuel fired, crucible or lining type, cooling water demand |
| Curing ovens for powder coating and composites | Powder coated aluminium profiles and steel parts, composite and adhesive curing | Cure schedule of the coating, conveyor or batch, heat-up time, exhaust and solvent handling |
| Drying ovens for parts and materials | Removing moisture from parts, cores, insulation and coatings before further processing | Moisture load, air flow and recirculation, maximum temperature, explosion relief if solvents are present |
| Kilns for ceramics and minerals | Firing ceramic products, tiles and refractories, calcining minerals | Firing curve, kiln type (shuttle, tunnel, rotary), fuel, refractory lining |
Many furnace buyers also need neighbouring equipment. Plants that cure composite or coated parts often also run plastic processing machinery, and weld procedures that need post-weld heat treatment tie furnace work to welding equipment. If you only need occasional heat treatment, buying heat treatment services in the UAE can be cheaper than running your own furnace.
The furnace chamber does not care about the weather, but everything around it does: cooling water, quench tanks, control panels and combustion air all perform worse in UAE summer conditions. Design the auxiliaries for the hottest day, not the average one.
Induction melting furnaces and many vacuum and atmosphere furnaces depend on closed-loop cooling water. Dry coolers and cooling towers lose capacity as ambient and wet-bulb temperatures rise, so check that the supplier sized the cooling system for UAE summer conditions, or add chillers or cooling towers with margin. Quench tanks warm up faster in summer; a hotter quench changes cooling rate and can push hardness out of range on oil and gas parts. Ask for quench temperature control and recording.
Thyristor power controllers, PLCs and temperature controllers sit next to a hot furnace in a hot building. Specify air-conditioned or cooled panels and check the derating of power electronics at the panel temperature. Fuel-fired furnaces draw in combustion air, so dust filters on burner fans need regular cleaning to keep the air to fuel ratio right.
Refractory linings and fibre modules absorb moisture during sea freight and storage in humid coastal sites such as Jebel Ali and KIZAD. Follow the maker's dry-out schedule on first start and after long shutdowns. Replacement linings come from refractory materials suppliers, and casing insulation from thermal insulation suppliers.
UAE buyers specify industrial furnaces against European, international or US safety standards for thermoprocessing equipment, plus process standards for heat treatment when the parts go into oil and gas service. The table summarises the main references as of 2026; check the edition your client specification names.
| Standard or requirement | Applies to | Issuing body |
|---|---|---|
| EN 746 series, industrial thermoprocessing equipment | Safety of furnaces and ovens, including combustion and fuel handling systems | CEN |
| ISO 13577 series, industrial furnaces and associated processing equipment, safety (Part 1 published 2016) | General safety requirements for furnaces, excluding blast furnaces, converters and boilers | ISO |
| NFPA 86 Standard for Ovens and Furnaces | Class A, B, C and D ovens, dryers and furnaces and thermal oxidizers; common in US-based and insurer specifications | NFPA |
| EN 676 forced draught gas burners | Packaged gas burners; it does not apply to burners designed specifically for industrial processes | CEN |
| API STD 20H (2020) heat treatment services, batch type | Qualification of heat treatment suppliers and processes for petroleum and natural gas equipment, where the equipment specification calls it up | API |
| API RP 6HT (2023) | Heat treatment and testing of carbon, micro-alloyed and low-alloy steel components, supplementing API 6A requirements | API |
Three points trip up buyers. First, EN 746 and ISO 13577 cover much of the same ground for the same equipment, and builders design to one or the other, so name the exact standard and edition in your enquiry rather than writing both. Second, a burner certified to EN 676 is not automatically suitable for a process furnace, because EN 676 excludes burners designed for industrial processes; process burners and their gas trains are assessed under the furnace standard. Third, ADNOC and its contractors buy heat treated pressure-containing parts against API and company specifications, so a furnace used for that work needs temperature uniformity surveys, calibrated instruments and records that a customer audit can follow. Parts for sour service must also meet the hardness limits in NACE MR0175/ISO 15156, which depend on correct tempering.
The fuel side needs its own approvals. Expect the LPG or natural gas installation serving a furnace to need civil defence approval in the emirate, installed by a contractor approved for gas work; confirm the current process with Dubai Civil Defence or the relevant authority before you order. Electrical accessories that fall under MoIAT regulations follow the routes in our guide to ECAS and EQM product conformity.
Industrial furnaces in the UAE are supplied by overseas furnace builders through regional agents, by local fabricators who build ovens and simpler furnaces in UAE workshops, and by refractory and service contractors who rebuild and maintain existing units. Large furnaces are engineered to order, so the supplier's process knowledge counts for more than stock.
Write a process specification before you ask for prices: the parts, the load per batch, the temperature cycle, the uniformity and atmosphere needed, and the standard the parts must meet. Then post your furnace or oven requirement to collect offers on that basis. For checks on a supplier's licence and agency, see how to source industrial suppliers in the UAE.
Furnace price is set by chamber size, maximum temperature, heating method and the accuracy you need; lead time is set by engineering, refractory and controls, and site installation.
