Pressure Calibrators Suppliers, UAE
Pressure calibrators in the UAE are reference instruments that generate and measure pressure so technicians can check gauges, switches and transmitters. This page explains the main types, how accuracy and summer heat affect them, which accreditation and hazardous-area approvals apply, and how to choose between manufacturers, distributors and stockists.

What are pressure calibrators and which types do UAE plants use?
A pressure calibrator is a reference instrument that generates or measures a known pressure so a technician can compare it with a gauge, switch or transmitter and correct the difference. It sits inside the calibration equipment category in the UAE, and instrument workshops at refineries, gas plants, power and desalination stations, aluminium smelters and pharmaceutical factories buy it for turnarounds and routine loop checks.
| Type | Typical UAE use | What to specify |
|---|---|---|
| Pneumatic hand pump with a separate reference gauge | Quick gauge and switch checks at the point of installation | Pressure and vacuum range, fine adjustment valve, hose and adapter set, reference gauge accuracy |
| Portable calibrator with built-in pump and electrical module | Transmitter calibration on the pipe rack, with the mA output read at the same time | Gauge or absolute range, accuracy as percent of span, 24 V loop supply, logging and as-found, as-left records |
| Pressure modules and external reference sensors | Extending one calibrator across low, medium and high ranges | Range of each module, overpressure limit, process connection thread, media compatibility |
| Hydraulic test pump or comparator | High-pressure gauges and relief valve test benches | Maximum pressure, oil or water as medium, priming and cleanliness |
| Workshop pressure controller | Automated calibration of many instruments on a bench | Range, stability, programmable sequences, software integration |
The instruments being tested are covered under pressure instruments in the UAE, including pressure transmitters. Pressure work rarely stops at the pressure port: a transmitter check also needs a current source and meter, which is why many buyers compare this page with multifunction calibrators, and why temperature probes in the same plant are handled with temperature calibrators.
How accurate does a pressure calibrator need to be?
A pressure calibrator must be clearly more accurate than the instrument it checks, and the figure that counts is the total uncertainty at your working temperature, not the headline accuracy. WIKA's CPH7000 portable process calibrator, for example, quotes 0.025 percent of span, and its data sheet states that the figure is a total measurement uncertainty (coverage factor k = 2) that includes the reference, long-term stability, ambient influence and drift.
Read three things on any data sheet before ordering:
- Percent of span or of reading. A percent-of-reading specification is tighter at the bottom of the range, which matters when you check a low-range differential transmitter.
- Compensated temperature band. The WIKA CPT7000 reference sensors list a compensated range of 10 to 60 degrees C. A calibrator used outside the band carries extra error that the headline number does not show.
- Calibration certificate. A factory certificate is the usual supply. An accredited certificate to ISO/IEC 17025, such as the DAkkS certificate WIKA offers on request for the CPH7000, is what an auditor expects when the calibrator is itself a reference.
A hand pump is only a pressure source. WIKA's CPP30 pneumatic pump, as its data sheet describes it, generates from minus 0.95 to plus 35 bar with air, has a fine adjustment valve, and works by connecting the test item and a reference instrument to the same pressure so the two readings can be compared. The accuracy of that arrangement is the accuracy of the reference gauge you screw on, so budget for the gauge as well as the pump.
How do UAE heat, humidity and dust affect pressure calibrators?
Pressure calibrators are specified for a working band that summer in the UAE can exceed, so the practical rules are about where the calibrator lives and when it is used. The CPH7000 data sheet gives an operating range of minus 10 to plus 50 degrees C, with maximum relative humidity falling from 90 percent at 35 degrees C to 45 percent at 50 degrees C, and an IP54 case rating. Yokogawa's CA71 handheld calibrator is specified for 0 to 50 degrees C and 20 to 80 percent humidity without condensation.
- Vehicles and pipe racks. A calibrator left in a parked vehicle in July passes 50 degrees C easily. Keep it in the workshop and carry it out for the job, and do the zero adjustment on site after it has settled.
- Charging. WIKA limits charging of the CPH7000 to 0 to 40 degrees C, and only outside hazardous areas, so charge in an air-conditioned room.
- Coastal moisture. From Jebel Ali to Ruwais, humid air condenses inside cold pneumatic hand pumps. Fit a filter or trap on the test line and dry the pump after use.
- Dust. Cap pressure ports and hose ends when not in use; sand in a fitting damages seals and reference sensors.
Which standards and approvals apply to pressure calibrators in the UAE?
As of 2026, a pressure calibrator in the UAE is judged by the traceability of its certificate, and by hazardous-area certification if it enters a classified zone. There is no separate product approval for a calibrator in the MoIAT regulated-products list I checked (a 2022 document), so confirm with MoIAT whether your model falls under a regulation.
| Requirement | Applies to | Authority or source |
|---|---|---|
| ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation for calibration laboratories | Laboratories that calibrate your calibrators and reference gauges | Emirates International Accreditation Centre (EIAC), which publishes a directory of accredited bodies |
| National measurement standards | Top of the traceability chain for pressure | Emirates Metrology Institute, Abu Dhabi |
| ECAS-Ex certificate of conformity | Electrical equipment, including an intrinsically safe calibrator, used in explosive atmospheres | MoIAT, based on IECEx, valid 1 or 3 years |
| IECEx or ATEX marking on the instrument | The evidence behind the ECAS-Ex file | Manufacturer and certification body |
| Owner calibration procedures | Plant maintenance work packs and contractor procedures | Operator standards |
Intertek describes ECAS-Ex as a scheme under Cabinet Resolution No. 23 of 2016, based on IECEx and run by MoIAT. Our guide to ECAS and EQM product conformity in the UAE explains how the schemes differ. The Gulf News report on the Emirates Metrology Institute says its standards for mass, volume, temperature, pressure and electrical quantities are recognised as national standards, which lets strategic industries calibrate in the UAE instead of abroad.
Who supplies pressure calibrators in the UAE?
Pressure calibrators reach UAE buyers through manufacturer offices, authorised distributors of calibration brands and general instrument stockists. Choose a distributor that can also arrange recalibration, because the calibrator needs its own certificate renewed, typically yearly.
Two makers on ListGCC supply the product: WIKA makes hand pumps, hand-held calibrators and reference sensors, and Yokogawa makes the CA700 portable pressure calibrator alongside its handheld process calibrators. Ask the supplier for the data sheet revision, the certificate type and the country of calibration, and see the guide to sourcing industrial suppliers in the UAE and Saudi Arabia for the checks that apply to any purchase. If you want quotes from several suppliers at once, post your requirement.
What drives price and lead time?
Price follows range, accuracy class, the number of modules, hazardous-area certification and the type of certificate. A high-accuracy unit with an accredited certificate costs more than the same unit with a factory certificate, and an intrinsically safe version costs more than a standard one. Lead time is short when a distributor stocks the model and long when it is built to order with special ranges or connections. Ask whether the stated lead time includes the accredited certificate, which is often issued separately.
