Health, safety and environment (HSE) equipment in the UAE is the protective gear, emergency equipment, detection instruments and training that employers buy to keep people safe and to contain spills on construction sites, plants, warehouses and buildings. HSE purchases often sit next to other soft services. Cleaning crews use gloves and spill kits supplied for commercial cleaning contracts, plant shutdowns combine confined space gear with industrial tank and pipeline cleaning, and fire and life safety audits are listed with security systems and services.
In the UAE, heat decides whether workers keep their PPE on, dust and humidity shorten the life of sensors and fabrics, and sun exposure ages plastics and webbing. Specify for those conditions or expect equipment to be removed, fail calibration or be replaced early.
Summer shifts are the main threat to PPE compliance. MoHRE bans work under direct sun from 12:30 pm to 3:00 pm between 15 June and 15 September, as The National reported for 2026, but the morning and afternoon are still hot. Choose vented helmets where electrical risk allows, anti-fog eyewear, breathable gloves and light workwear, and keep flame-resistant clothing for tasks that need it. Fine dust can block sensor inlets and filters on gas detectors. Bump test portable units before each shift, change inlet filters on the maker's schedule, and keep a docking station or calibration service close to the site. On sour gas assets in Abu Dhabi, hydrogen sulphide detection is a standard part of every entry permit.
Harness webbing, helmet shells and plastic barriers age in strong sun. Ask the manufacturer for the inspection criteria and service life in writing, and store equipment out of direct sun. On coastal sites, check extinguisher cabinets, eyewash stations and anchor points for corrosion during each inspection.

Civil Defence released the 2017 update of the UAE fire code in January 2017, replacing the 2011 version. TÜV Rheinland describes Civil Defence approval as mandatory for listed fire and life safety products and valid for two years. OSHAD SF dates from 2008, with version 3.1 issued in March 2017. In construction, the Department of Municipalities and Transport says nominated developers, consultants and contractors must set up an occupational safety and health management system. In Dubai, Decree No. 19 of 2025 makes the Code of Construction Safety Practice binding across the emirate, including the free zones. UAE buyers get HSE equipment from local manufacturers, from authorised distributors of international brands, and from safety stockists who carry many brands for quick delivery. Detection and fire equipment need service and calibration, so the supplier's workshop matters as much as the product.
