Epoxy coatings in the UAE are the two-pack high build, mastic and lining products that give steel and concrete their main barrier against water and chemicals, from plant steelwork to fuel and drinking water tanks. This page lists UAE epoxy suppliers and explains the types, heat and amine blush risks, drinking water and adhesion standards, and what drives cost and delivery.
The Port of Fujairah and the Fujairah Oil Industry Zone make it one of the main fuel and storage points on the Indian Ocean side of the UAE. That drives demand across the chemicals, lubricants and industrial gases sector. Ships call for fuel and lubricants, terminals need tank-cleaning and corrosion chemicals, and plants at Qidfa need water-treatment dosing. ENOC's lubricants and grease plant has been reported in the port area and supplies bulk oil directly to vessels, though reports differ on its exact location and output.
Marine lubricants and lubricants and oils lead, because ship engines, port cranes and terminal pumps all consume them. Marine coatings and anti-corrosion coatings follow, since salt air and sea spray on the Gulf of Oman shorten the life of tanks, pipework and steel structures. Water-treatment chemicals serve the desalination and power cluster, and a new 60 MIGD seawater reverse osmosis plant signed in 2026 for the port area will need antiscalants and cleaning chemicals once it runs. Industrial gases and cylinders and regulators supply welders at the ship repair and fabrication yards.
Storage of flammable liquids and compressed gas needs Civil Defence approval of the premises, and inside the free zone the Fujairah Free Zone Authority also reviews the lease use. Environmental permits for bunkering and chemical handling go through the emirate's environment authority. Always ask for a safety data sheet in English and Arabic and confirm that the supplier is licensed for the product class you are buying.
Compare delivered cost, not ex-works price. Bulk lube supply to a vessel at anchor works differently from drum delivery to a workshop in Al Hayl, so say which you need. For marine grades, ask for the engine builder's approval list. Use post a requirement to get matched quotes for drums, totes or bulk.
Fujairah is the only emirate that lies entirely on the eastern coast, on the Gulf of Oman, and the UAE government describes it as the country's only access point to the Indian Ocean. Its industry follows that coastline. The Port of Fujairah and the Fujairah Free Zone sit next to each other just north of Fujairah City, and the Fujairah Oil Industry Zone behind the port holds a large share of the region's refined and crude oil storage. Wikipedia puts that storage at about 10 million cubic metres and counts 18 companies in the zone. Inland, the Hajar foothills carry the quarries, crushers and cement plants that supply building projects in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Al Hayl is the working industrial area for warehouses, workshops and heavy engineering yards, and the Fujairah Free Zone Authority has long held land there for heavy engineering.
The port runs oil, dry bulk, marine services, container, general cargo, RoRo, cruise and livestock berths, and it also serves the aggregate and limestone trades. Fujairah Terminals is upgrading the container and general cargo side, and the port says capacity is expected to reach 1.3 million TEU by 2030. Fujairah International Airport lies south of the city and mainly handles cargo. By road, the Sheikh Khalifa Highway links the city to Dubai. By rail, Etihad Rail and AD Ports launched a container service on 21 September 2026 between Fujairah Terminals and the Industrial City of Abu Dhabi, about 200 km away, with three trips a week at launch. Because Fujairah is outside the Strait of Hormuz, shipowners and traders use it for bunkering, spares and crew supplies without the transit.
Most approvals sit with Fujairah Municipality for building and trade premises, Civil Defence for fire and life safety, and the Fujairah Free Zone Authority for anything inside the zone. Port-side activity answers to the Port of Fujairah. Water and power connections are handled by Etihad Water and Electricity, and environmental clearance for quarries, storage and plants involves the emirate's environment authority. Confirm the exact sequence for your premises with Fujairah Municipality before signing a lease or ordering plant.
Four groups drive demand. Oil terminals and marine service firms buy pumps, valves, hoses, lubricants, safety gear and fire equipment. Quarry and cement operators buy crushers, earthmoving machines, conveyors and spares. Power and water plants at Qidfa, south of Khor Fakkan, buy rotating equipment, chemicals and controls; the 60 MIGD seawater desalination plant signed by Etihad Water and Electricity in 2026 for the Port of Fujairah area will add to that. Farms in Masafi, Dibba and the wadis, plus fishing fleets, buy irrigation, cold storage and boat gear. Hospitals including the new Sheikh Khalifa Hospital, opened in 2025, buy medical equipment.
