Construction adhesives in the UAE are the tile and stone adhesives, panel and assembly adhesives, and injection resins for anchors and rebar used on towers, villas, malls and infrastructure. This page lists UAE construction adhesive suppliers and explains EN 12004 tile adhesive classes, ETA approvals for bonded anchors, the Dubai VOC certificate, how summer heat cuts working time, and what moves price and lead time.
Ras Al Khaimah is unusual because it supplies construction materials to the country as well as consuming them. Its quarries and cement plants export through Saqr Port, and a 2021 report said Etihad Rail agreed to haul about 3.5 million tonnes a year of quarry material from Al Ghail towards Abu Dhabi. Local building demand is led by Al Marjan Island, where the Wynn resort tower topped out at 283 metres in December 2025 with opening scheduled for spring 2027, and a second resort, Janu, targets late 2028, according to Gulf News.
The core lines in the construction and building materials sector are ready mix concrete, steel rebar, precast concrete products and scaffolding systems. Resort and tower schemes pull glass curtain walls, waterproofing systems and fire sprinkler systems, while the zones' own factory construction uses pre-engineered steel buildings.
Cement, aggregate and block producers cluster in the Al Ghail and Al Hulaila industrial zones, close to the quarries and the port. RAKEZ offers pre-approved open yards in Al Ghail, plots of 1,035 square metres with a 35 square metre office, marketed for storing heavy machinery, construction materials and equipment. Imported steel and finishing goods usually land at Saqr Port or come up from Jebel Ali by road in a few hours.
Building permits outside the free zones come from RAK Municipality, and industrial buildings need a Civil Defence completion certificate. Inside RAKEZ, the free zone authority handles its own permits, so ask which one applies to your site. When you buy, request the manufacturer's test certificates for the batch, check that the concrete plant can reach your site within the setting time, and compare quotes on the same delivery terms through post a requirement.
Most of the emirate's factories sit inside the Ras Al Khaimah Economic Zone, known as RAKEZ, which was formed in 2017 by merging the former RAK Free Trade Zone and the RAK Investment Authority. RAKEZ runs three industrial zones. Al Ghail is the heavy-manufacturing zone with the largest plots and a connection to the Etihad Rail freight facility. Al Hamra suits light and high-tech manufacturing and processing, and RAKEZ lists tenants there from tea blending to glass bottles and wiring harnesses. Al Hulaila is positioned for heavy industry beside Saqr Port, with land plots and warehouses on offer. RAKEZ lets investors choose a free zone or a non-free-zone licence in these zones, which matters if you plan to sell to the UAE mainland.
Saqr Port is the heart of the freight system. RAK Ports describes it as one of the largest bulk ports in the region, and trade reports put its handling at around 70 to 85 million tonnes a year, mostly limestone, aggregates, cement and clinker from local quarries, with a container terminal alongside. Ras Al Khaimah International Airport takes air freight. By road, the airport operator's published figures give roughly 60 km from Sharjah, about 110 km from Dubai city and about 250 km from Abu Dhabi city, so same-day delivery to Dubai is realistic while Abu Dhabi is a longer run. Etihad Rail's Al Ghail freight facility was announced in 2021 to move quarry material by train towards Abu Dhabi, and RAKEZ now describes Al Ghail as connected to the rail terminal.
The RAK Department of Economic Development licenses commercial and industrial activity on the mainland, while RAKEZ licenses companies inside its zones. RAKEZ tells manufacturers to obtain external clearances after licensing, naming environmental, Civil Defence and health authorities. RAK Municipality handles building permits outside the free zones, and a completion certificate from Civil Defence is needed for industrial and multi-storey buildings. For RAKEZ sites, RAKEZ itself pre-approves open yards with Civil Defence. Confirm which regime applies to your plot before ordering.
Quarrying, cement and construction materials are the emirate's historic base, and manufacturing is reported at more than a third of local GDP in a RAKEZ article. Food processing, pharmaceuticals, packaging, building products and automotive components follow. Large hospitality projects on Al Marjan Island, including the Wynn resort scheduled for spring 2027, add steady demand for fit-out and facilities supplies. Heavy oil and gas is not a local strength; for that, look to Abu Dhabi.
