Mining Equipment Suppliers, UAE
Mining equipment in the UAE is the fleet that drills, breaks, loads and hauls rock in the quarries of Fujairah and Ras Al Khaimah and in tunnelling and underground works: haul trucks, drill rigs, rock breakers, conveyors, dewatering pumps and ventilation. This page covers the types and specs, how abrasive rock and heat change the specification, the rules checked in 2026, and how to choose a dealer from the listings below.

What is mining equipment and what types are there?
Mining equipment is the heavy machinery used to extract rock and ore and move it to the crusher or plant. It is the largest capital item in the mining, quarrying and minerals sector. In the UAE almost all of it works in open quarries producing gabbro and limestone, with smaller demand from tunnels, utility shafts and underground projects. The general excavators, wheel loaders and dozers that quarries share with construction are covered in the earthmoving equipment hub; this page covers the mining-duty machines around them.
| Type | Typical use in UAE quarries and underground works | Key spec |
|---|---|---|
| Surface mining equipment | Rigid and articulated haul trucks, large face shovels and excavators on quarry benches | Payload in tonnes, matched to loader bucket passes, tyre size and availability |
| Mining drill rigs | Top hammer and down-the-hole blasthole rigs for benches; core rigs for resource drilling | Hole diameter range, depth, dust collection on the rig, cab filtration |
| Rock breakers and hammers | Excavator-mounted hydraulic hammers for oversize rock and secondary breaking; pedestal breakers on crusher grizzlies | Carrier weight class, impact energy, tool steel and bushings |
| Conveyor systems for mining | Overland and plant conveyors from crusher to stockpile and to ship loaders near the coast | Belt width and rating, idler sealing, dust covers and transfer chute design |
| Mine dewatering pumps | Draining pit sumps after rain and groundwater inflow in deep benches | Head and flow, solids handling, wear materials, diesel or electric drive |
| Mine ventilation systems | Fans and ducting for tunnels, shafts and underground drives | Air volume and pressure, motor rating, ducting diameter and leakage |
| Underground mining equipment | Low profile loaders, trucks and utility vehicles for tunnels and underground development | Height and width envelope, diesel exhaust or battery electric drive |
Crushing and screening, which follows the mine fleet, sits in the sibling family of quarrying equipment, with fixed crushers and screening plants and tracked mobile crushers for pit-side crushing. Oil and gas well drilling rigs are a different product and live under drilling equipment and services.
How do UAE rock, heat and dust affect mining equipment?
Gabbro is hard and abrasive, summers are hot, and quarry benches are dusty. Those three conditions decide wear part budgets, cooling options and filtration more than any brochure figure.
- Abrasive rock. East coast gabbro wears ground engaging tools, truck body liners, hammer tools and drill bits faster than limestone. Ask for wear part consumption from a comparable quarry and price a year of consumables with the machine.
- Tyres. Sharp rock on haul roads cuts tyres. Road maintenance with a grader and water truck pays back in tyre life, and cut-resistant tread compounds suit quarry haulage.
- Heat. Specify the high ambient cooling package, check that hydraulic oil and engine coolant stay within limits on a loaded uphill haul in August, and fit cab air conditioning that copes with dust as well as heat. The earthmoving hub covers cooling in more detail.
- Dust. Drill rigs need effective dust collection at the collar, both for the operator and to meet the dust expectations UAE regulators apply to quarries. Pre-cleaners and two-stage air filters protect engines; check service intervals for summer.
- Coastal sites. Conveyors and ship loading near Saqr Port and Fujairah see salt air; specify coatings and sealed idlers for coastal sections.
Which standards and approvals apply in the UAE?
Mining equipment in the UAE is not covered by a dedicated mining machine regulation; buyers deal with emirate quarry rules, federal environmental decisions on quarries, product conformity for electrical parts, and the client's site requirements. The table reflects sources checked in October 2026; confirm details with the authority.
| Requirement | Applies to | Authority or reference |
|---|---|---|
| Quarry licence and site rules | The quarry where the fleet works, including extraction limits and site plans | Emirate governments, for example FNRC in Fujairah |
| Crusher and quarry works regulation | Planning, operation and execution of works at quarry and crusher establishments (Ministerial Decision No. 567 of 2014) | Ministry of Climate Change and Environment |
| Product conformity for electrical items | Regulated electrical products, and ECAS-Ex for equipment in explosive atmospheres | MoIAT |
| Collision warning and avoidance | Detection and warning or automatic slowing on earthmoving and mobile underground mining machinery | ISO 21815-1:2022 (voluntary) |
| Operator permits and site acceptance | Operators of heavy machines and inspection before mobilising to site | Emirate authorities and the main contractor or quarry owner |
| Blasting | Use of explosives with drill rigs on quarry benches | Ministry of Interior licensing under Federal Decree-Law No. 17 of 2019 |
The ECAS and EQM guide explains when MoIAT conformity applies to electrical parts such as pumps, fans and motor starters. Drill rigs are often sold with their blasting partner in mind, but the explosives side is handled by licensed contractors, not equipment suppliers. Safety systems that ride on the fleet, such as proximity detection, are covered in the mining safety equipment family.
Who supplies mining equipment in the UAE?
Mining equipment in the UAE is sold mainly by authorised dealers of the major machine brands, with parts specialists, tyre distributors and rebuild shops around them, most of them based in Dubai, Sharjah and Abu Dhabi with branches or field service in the northern emirates.
- Authorised dealers. Buy trucks, shovels and drill rigs through the brand's UAE dealer. Ask for the parts fill rate from local stock, field service coverage in Fujairah and RAK, and component exchange for engines and transmissions.
- Parts and wear specialists. Genuine parts such as Cat replacement parts for trucks, loaders and dozers come through the dealer network; wear parts and hammer tools also come from specialist suppliers.
- Tyres. Off-the-road tyres are a separate purchase; Techking OTR radial tyres for rigid dump trucks and loaders are one option alongside the machine OEM's fitment.
- Underground and drilling. For tunnels and underground works, Aramine compact underground loaders and battery electric carriers are an example of specialist underground equipment; for resource drilling, Technidrill wireline core barrels and diamond bits and Hole Products core bits, rods and augers supply the consumables.
- Rental and contract mining. Many UAE quarries hire load and haul contractors or rent equipment for peaks rather than owning a full fleet.
Autonomous and remote operation is now a mature option for large fleets elsewhere. Komatsu reports that its FrontRunner autonomous haulage system has run for more than 17 years, with over 900 autonomous trucks commissioned (company figures, October 2025). For a UAE quarry the practical questions are site size, a reliable private wireless network, and whether the dealer can support the system locally. Remote control of drill rigs and breakers is a smaller step and can take operators out of dusty, noisy positions. To get competing quotes, post your requirement with the tonnage, haul distance and rock type.
What drives price and lead time?
The size class sets the lead time. Smaller trucks, breakers and pumps are often in UAE or regional dealer stock. Large haul trucks, face shovels and drill rigs are built to order, so the factory slot and shipping to Jebel Ali or Khalifa Port govern delivery, followed by assembly on site. Large off-the-road tyres can be the bottleneck. Price depends on the options for heat, dust and safety, the warranty and parts package, and whether a maintenance contract is included. Compare cost per tonne moved over several years rather than purchase price, and check the residual value assumption if you plan to trade the fleet in.
