Conveyor Systems Suppliers, UAE
Conveyor systems in the UAE are the belt, roller, chain, screw and overhead lines that move cartons, parcels, bulk materials and hanging goods through warehouses, plants and port terminals. This page lists UAE conveyor suppliers and integrators, compares the main types, sets out the design standards buyers call up (EN 620, EN 619, ISO 5048, CEMA), and explains how summer heat, sand and humidity change belt, motor and bearing choices.

Conveyor Systems brands in UAE
What are conveyor systems and which types do UAE buyers specify?
Conveyor systems are fixed machines that move goods continuously along a set route, either as unit loads such as cartons, totes, parcels and pallets, or as loose bulk such as sand, cement, aggregates and grain. They form one family within material handling equipment for UAE warehouses, plants and terminals. The first question in any UAE enquiry is whether the line carries unit loads or bulk, because the design standard, the belt and the type of supplier all change with that answer.
Unit load lines are what most UAE buyers ask about: parcel and e-commerce hubs, airport cargo sheds, food and beverage distribution, and pharmaceutical stores. Bulk lines serve cement and ready-mix plants, crushers, fertiliser and grain handling, and dry bulk berths. The table sets out the main types.
| Type | Typical UAE application | Key specification points |
|---|---|---|
| Belt conveyors for bulk and unit loads | Troughed belts for aggregates, sand and cement; flat belts for parcels, baggage and food | Belt width and speed, carcass and cover grade, idler spacing, take-up, drive power and belt tension calculated to ISO 5048 or CEMA |
| Roller conveyors for cartons, totes and pallets | Distribution centres, picking and packing lines, cold stores | Gravity or powered, roller pitch against the smallest item, load per roller, zero pressure accumulation, motor driven roller voltage |
| Chain conveyors for pallets and heavy parts | Pallet transfer in beverage and building materials plants, hot or oily components | Chain type and breaking load, pallet base and runner orientation, lubrication regime |
| Screw conveyors for powders and fines | Cement, lime, fly ash and filler into silos, batching plants and mixers | Screw diameter and pitch, trough loading, inclination, abrasiveness of the material, sealed ends; design per ANSI/CEMA 350 |
| Overhead conveyors for hanging loads | Garment and laundry handling, paint and powder coating shops, assembly | Power and free or continuous track, carrier load, curve radii, oven temperatures on paint lines |
| Bucket elevators (quoted with the conveyor package) | Vertical lift of cement, grain and fertiliser into silos | Belt or chain, bucket spacing and discharge type, housing sealing; CEMA No. 375 covers design practice |
Long overland belts for quarries are covered separately under conveyor systems for mining and quarrying. Inside a building, conveyors usually sit between other equipment: they end at packaging machinery or a stretch wrapper, they load trucks across dock levellers and loading bays, and on steady flows they take over shuttle work that would otherwise need forklifts or tugger trains and carts.
How do UAE heat, dust and humidity affect conveyor systems?
Heat, fine dust and coastal humidity shorten the life of motors, bearings and belts when the enquiry only describes the load. Put the real ambient range, the dust exposure and the material temperature in the specification, and ask each bidder to confirm its components are rated for them.
Motors and drum motors
Standard drive ratings are written for European halls. Interroll's DM 0138 drum motor datasheet, for example, gives an ambient range of +2 to +40 °C for the standard three-phase motor, and +2 to +25 °C where the motor drives a positive drive belt or runs without a belt. A conveyor on an uncooled mezzanine, a canopy between buildings or a truck loading apron in a UAE summer can exceed those figures, so ask for the derating, a larger motor, or an air-conditioned zone for the drives.
Belt covers and hot material
Bulk lines carrying fresh clinker, cement or dried sand see belt surface temperatures driven by the material, not the weather. Belt makers grade covers by material temperature: Fenner Dunlop lists its Betahete grade for continuous material temperatures up to 160 °C with peaks to 180 °C, and Deltahete up to 200 °C continuous with peaks to 400 °C. State the hottest material temperature you expect and let the belt supplier choose the grade, then ask for its ozone and sunlight resistance data if the belt runs outdoors.
Sand and dust
Fine wind-blown sand works into idler and roller bearings, motor seals and photo-eyes. Specify sealed bearings, belt cleaners and skirting at transfer points, covers over outdoor runs, and a cleaning schedule in the maintenance manual. EN 620:2021 notes that the European directive for equipment in potentially explosive atmospheres can apply to bulk belt conveyors, so lines carrying grain, sugar, flour or other combustible dust need a dust explosion risk assessment as part of the design.
Condensation and salt air
Lines that run between a cold store and a warm dock pick up condensation on rollers, sensors and electrics. Sites near Jebel Ali, Khalifa Port and the Sharjah coast see salt-laden humid air, so galvanised or stainless frames and coated fasteners are worth pricing against painted mild steel.
Which standards and approvals apply to conveyor systems in the UAE?
As of October 2026 we did not find conveyors on the MoIAT regulated product sheet, so a conveyor itself normally needs no federal UAE product certificate; the design standard named in your specification is what sets the safety and engineering bar. Electrical items supplied with the line can fall under MoIAT conformity schemes.
| Requirement | Applies to | Authority |
|---|---|---|
| EN 620:2021, safety requirements for fixed belt conveyors for bulk materials (replaced EN 620:2002+A1:2010) | Stationary belt conveyors moving loose bulk material, through design, operation, maintenance and cleaning | CEN, via the buyer's specification |
| EN 619:2022 | Conveyors and systems for unit loads | CEN, via the buyer's specification |
| ISO 5048 | Calculation of drive power and belt tensile forces for belt conveyors with carrying idlers | ISO, via the buyer's specification |
| CEMA, Belt Conveyors for Bulk Materials (7th edition), ANSI/CEMA 350-2021 screw conveyors, CEMA No. 375-2017 bucket elevators | Design practice for bulk belt, screw and bucket elevator systems, common on projects with American engineering | Conveyor Equipment Manufacturers Association |
| ECAS or EQM conformity | Electrical products on the MoIAT regulated list; confirm whether any plug-in item supplied with the line is in scope | MoIAT |
| Client or consultant specification | Port, utility, oil and gas and airport projects | The owner, through the contract |
Two points catch buyers out. First, EN 620:2021 applies to equipment placed on the market after its publication, and it excludes man-riding conveyors, ship-mounted structures and belts without a continuous rubber or polymer surface, so check that the standard fits the machine before quoting it. Second, European and CEMA methods do not always give the same drive size or belt rating. Pick one design basis per line and ask every bidder to calculate to it, otherwise the quotes are not comparable. Our guide to ECAS and EQM conformity in the UAE explains how to check an electrical certificate.
Who supplies conveyor systems in the UAE?
UAE conveyor work is split between system integrators who design, build and commission complete lines with controls, distributors of component brands such as belting, rollers and fasteners, and local fabricators who build frames, chutes and simple gravity runs. A parcel sorter or a cement plant belt needs an integrator; a replacement belt or a set of rollers usually comes from a distributor.
Component brands listed on ListGCC include Interroll for conveyor rollers, drum motors and modular conveyor platforms; Intralox for modular plastic belting and Activated Roller Belt sorting; Habasit and Forbo Siegling for fabric, TPU and modular belts in food and logistics lines; Ammeraal Beltech for process and conveyor belts; Fenner Dunlop and ContiTech for heavy rubber and steel cord belting on bulk lines; and Flexco for mechanical belt fasteners, cleaners and impact beds.
Ask an integrator for references on a similar load and throughput, who writes the PLC and warehouse software interface, where spare parts are held, and who will do the belt splicing and vulcanising on site. Ask a distributor whether it is authorised by the brand and whether it holds stock in the UAE or orders from the factory. To get several offers on the same specification, post your conveyor requirement on ListGCC; our guide on sourcing industrial suppliers in the UAE and Saudi Arabia covers RFQ structure and supplier checks.
What drives the price and lead time of conveyor systems in the UAE?
Price follows length, throughput and how much engineering and automation the line needs; a straight gravity roller run and a sortation loop with scanners and software are different purchases. Compare quotes item by item rather than on the total.
- Layout and length: number of curves, merges, inclines and level changes, and any mezzanine or bridge steelwork.
- Belt and roller specification: cover grade for heat or oil, food-grade belting, stainless rollers.
- Drives and controls: number of zones, drum motors versus external gearmotors, PLC, scanners and integration with warehouse software.
- Dust and safety items: enclosures, skirting, belt cleaners, guards, emergency pull-wires and walkways.
- Installation: civil works, lifting the heavy drive and head sections with lifting equipment, commissioning and operator training.
- Spares and service: a starter spares kit, belt stock and a response time in the service contract.
Lead time is usually set by engineering approval and factory production rather than shipping. Standard belting and rollers may be available from UAE stock, while engineered lines go through layout approval, fabrication, sea freight into Jebel Ali or Khalifa Port, then installation and commissioning. Ask each bidder for a programme that splits these stages and shows when drawings need your sign-off.
