Exhibition and event equipment in Saudi Arabia is the stands, furniture, screens, lighting, staging and power that exhibitors and organisers hire or buy for trade fairs, conferences and public events in Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam and giga-project sites. This page explains the equipment groups, rent versus buy, what permits and venue rules to confirm as of 2026, and what drives price and delivery.
This group collects services that do not fit a single trade, and in Jeddah three themes stand out. Because the city holds Jeddah Islamic Port, other industrial and B2B services include marine and offshore supply. Because it is the commercial capital of the west, buyers look for legal and regulatory help, trade finance and company formation. And because the pilgrim and hotel trade is large, uniforms, furniture, glass and signage see steady orders.
Marine suppliers chase marine equipment, ship chandlers and marine paints and coatings for vessels calling at a port with 62 berths in service, according to Wikipedia. Importers and exporters need import export licensing and trade finance. Hotels, hospitals and offices drive hospitality furniture, office furniture, commercial kitchen equipment and laundry equipment. Showrooms and towers use tempered and laminated glass and wayfinding systems.
For goods entering the port, brokers deal with ZATCA, which opened an all-in-one customs hall in January 2022. Company formation and licensing run through national platforms, and Jeddah Municipality issues the local trade licence and signage permits. Kitchen and laundry installations must pass Civil Defense review for gas, ventilation and fire safety. Food service buyers must also ask for halal compliant supply and hygiene documentation.
Check that signage and glass installers hold municipal approval before work starts, since facade changes need permits. For marine items, confirm class or flag requirements with the vessel owner, not only the chandler. Aerospace and defence supply follows separate Kingdom channels, so ask any seller for the right registration. Hotel and hospital fit-outs often bundle furniture, glass, kitchen and laundry items, so write one scope and invite several suppliers to price it. Ask each bidder for delivery lead times to Jeddah and for installation and warranty terms. Use post a requirement for mixed packages, and read the sourcing guide for vetting steps.
Jeddah is the commercial centre of the western Kingdom, and its factories sit in three industrial cities south of the built-up area, all supervised by the Saudi Authority for Industrial Cities and Technology Zones, known as MODON. Saudipedia dates the First Industrial City to 1971, with about twelve million square metres and 1,119 factories, east of Al-Rahmaniyah Market. The Second opened in 2009 west of the Coastal Road, about 30 km from the first. The Third, east of the Coastal Road, is listed with 714 factories and a much larger 80 million square metre footprint, of which 24 million is developed. In August 2024 Argaam reported more than SAR 521 million of new MODON projects there, among them a first-phase wastewater plant of 10,000 cubic metres a day in the Second City and 24 ready-made factories of 350 square metres each in the First.
Jeddah Islamic Port is the main gateway. Wikipedia describes 62 berths in service in 2023 and a share of roughly 65 percent of the Kingdom's seaborne imports, and the port is the western end of the planned Saudi Landbridge. In March 2025 DP World and Mawani inaugurated the expanded South Container Terminal, which lifts capacity from 1.8 to 4 million TEU, and a SAR 900 million, 415,000 square metre logistics park is being built beside it. The airport lies to the north, and trucks carry cargo inland to Mecca, Medina, Taif and Riyadh.
MODON leases plots and ready units. Mawani regulates the port. ZATCA runs customs, and opened an all-in-one customs hall at the port in January 2022. Jeddah Municipality issues trade and building permits, the General Directorate of Civil Defense approves fire and life safety, and the National Water Company runs water and sewage. Confirm current steps on each authority's own platform before contracting.
Construction and fit-out lead because of waterfront and city redevelopment. Food, plastics, packaging, paint and metal plants in the industrial cities buy machinery and spares, while port and logistics operators buy handling gear. Fuel is distributed from Aramco's North Jeddah bulk plant, but refining and heavy petrochemicals sit in other cities.
