MRI systems in Saudi Arabia are the magnetic resonance scanners, mainly 1.5 tesla and 3 tesla, bought by Ministry of Health hospitals, other government providers, private groups and imaging centres. This page lists Saudi suppliers and covers what an MRI purchase involves as of 2026: SFDA marketing authorisation, the limits of NRRC radiation licensing, facility duties under SFDA MDS-REQ 3, refurbished system rules, site conditions and what moves price and delivery.
Healthcare buying in Yanbu is split between public and Royal Commission-linked providers. Yanbu General Hospital is a Ministry of Health facility reporting to the Madinah Health Cluster, which announced in June 2022 that its emergency department had grown to 26 beds. The Royal Commission also runs a health services programme for the industrial city, and a cooperation agreement with King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre in Madinah aims to ease referrals for specialised care. A third-party guide lists private hospitals as well, though this has not been verified against an official source. For the healthcare and medical equipment sector this means procurement through several routes, not one.
An emergency-heavy city with industrial workplaces needs patient monitors, X-ray equipment, ultrasound systems and hospital beds. Occupational health clinics buy disposable medical supplies, diagnostic equipment and laboratory equipment. Dental clinics serving families add dental chairs. Complex cases are referred to Madinah, where the KFSHRC branch has 400 beds, so Yanbu buyers focus on emergency and primary care equipment.
Medical devices must be authorised by the Saudi Food and Drug Authority, and suppliers need a licensed local representative. Public hospitals buy through government tenders. The Royal Commission's own programme handles its purchasing separately. Confirm each buyer's registration process before you offer a product.
Occupational health matters here because the workforce is concentrated in industrial sites. Fitness-to-work checks, first response and emergency stabilisation before referral all drive demand for compact, sturdy equipment with local service.
Check SFDA listing status before you quote, and ask what service contract covers a site 160 km from Medina. Ask for installation and training in the offer. To compare supplier quotes for a clinic fit-out, post a requirement.
Yanbu is three places in one. Yanbu Al-Bahr is the older seafront town where most residents live, Yanbu Al-Nakhal is a separate inland area about 47 km away, and Yanbu Al-Sina'iya in the south holds the industrial city. The industrial city is planned and run by the Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu, which was established on 21 September 1975 and answers to the Council of Ministers. Its mission is to plan and manage energy-intensive and petrochemical cities, and gas collected from oil operations is meant to feed their plants. In April 2026 Arab News, citing the commission's annual report, put total investment in the Jubail and Yanbu industrial cities above SR1.5 trillion by the end of 2025, and described Yanbu as a refining and downstream processing centre. Wikipedia lists three refineries, a plastics facility and several petrochemical plants in the city.
The expansion known as Yanbu-2 was launched in July 2005 on about 66 square kilometres, with a plan for 34 basic and secondary industries and 224 light industries. Those are 2005 plan figures. On 9 April 2025 Aramco and Sinopec signed a framework agreement to advance engineering studies for a petrochemical expansion at the Yasref refinery, with a 1.8 million tonne a year steam cracker and a 1.5 million tonne aromatics complex. Aramco described it as a study-phase project.
King Fahd Industrial Port is described as the largest port for loading crude oil and petrochemicals on the Red Sea, with terminals for general cargo and containers, bulk cargo and crude oil. The East-West crude pipeline from the Eastern Province ends here. In May 2026 Mawani, a shipping line and SABIC announced the Red Sea Express container service linking the port with Ain Sokhna in Egypt and Aqaba in Jordan, at up to 1,100 TEU. In December 2025 Mawani signed a SAR 29 million logistics agreement with a logistics company for a 120,500 square metre cargo and storage site at a Yanbu port. The airport has domestic flights to Jeddah, Riyadh and Dammam. Medina lies roughly 160 km east by road, so inland deliveries often route through it.
Inside the industrial city, the Royal Commission handles land, utilities and investor services. Port matters go through Mawani and the port operator, customs through ZATCA, and building permits through the municipality. Fire and life safety approvals come from the General Directorate of Civil Defense, and medical products need Saudi Food and Drug Authority authorisation. Confirm the current steps with each body before you commit to a delivery date.
Refining, petrochemicals and port operations buy valves, pumps, coatings, gases, instrumentation and safety gear. Contractors follow plant shutdowns, and about 332,000 residents (2022 census) support housing, clinics and food supply.
