Silicone technology (formerly Dow Corning)
DOWSIL, the silicone technology brand of Dow (formerly Dow Corning), is a global reference standard for structural glazing and weatherproofing silicones used on curtain-wall and facade systems. In Saudi Arabia, where high heat, UV exposure and coastal humidity place heavy demands on building envelopes, DOWSIL sealants such as DOWSIL 795 and DOWSIL 993 are widely specified by facade consultants on major towers and mixed-use developments. Buyers can source DOWSIL through regional sealant and facade-material distributors, and compare authorised suppliers directly on ListGCC.

DOWSIL is the silicone technology brand of Dow, built on the heritage of Dow Corning, and is recognised globally as a reference standard for high-performance silicone sealants and adhesives. The brand's portfolio covers structural glazing silicones, weatherproofing sealants, insulating-glass secondary seals, and sanitary and general construction silicones, engineered to withstand sustained UV exposure, high temperatures, and the constant expansion and contraction of building facades. In Saudi Arabia's construction sector, DOWSIL is closely associated with curtain-wall and structural-glazing systems, where long-term adhesion and weatherproofing performance are critical to a building's envelope integrity over decades of service.
DOWSIL's range spans several core silicone technologies used across facade and construction projects:
Across these product families, DOWSIL grades are generally selected based on project specification, substrate compatibility, and the movement or structural performance required — decisions typically made in coordination with facade consultants and glazing fabricators.
Saudi Arabia's building envelope requirements are shaped by extreme heat, intense UV radiation, and — in coastal cities such as Jeddah, Dammam, and Al Khobar — high humidity and marine exposure, alongside sulphate- and chloride-rich soils inland and near the coast. These conditions place sustained stress on facade sealants, making long-term UV and weathering resistance a key consideration for specifiers. DOWSIL silicones are commonly used on:
Because facade performance is central to building compliance and energy efficiency in the Kingdom, many project specifications reference silicone products such as DOWSIL by name or performance class. Buyers researching this category can review related products under silicone sealants on ListGCC.
DOWSIL products are typically available in Saudi Arabia through authorised facade-material and sealant distributors rather than sold directly to end users. Buyers should distinguish between authorised dealers, who can usually provide technical data sheets, batch traceability, and manufacturer-backed warranty support, and general traders, who may offer shorter lead times but less consistent technical backing. Lead times vary by product, grade, and order volume, and are best confirmed directly with the supplier at the time of enquiry.
When specifying or procuring DOWSIL silicones for a Saudi project, buyers commonly need to confirm the applicable product data sheet, compatibility with the specified substrates, and any project-specific approval or documentation requirements, which may reference regional frameworks such as SASO and the Saber conformity platform. Facade consultants and glazing contractors are typically involved in confirming the correct DOWSIL grade for a given structural or weatherproofing application.
ListGCC allows buyers in Saudi Arabia to identify and compare suppliers of DOWSIL silicones in one place rather than contacting distributors individually. Through the platform, procurement and facade teams can request quotes from multiple dealers, compare lead times and technical support offerings, and look for supplier profiles carrying verified badges as an initial reference point before further due diligence. This helps streamline sourcing for both one-off project requirements and recurring facade-maintenance supply needs.
